Premium Services
This information is provided by iTEL Community
Telco. (iTEL) to inform customers about the risks of accruing
unexpected high telephone bills from premium services.
Premium services are calls made to 190 prefix numbers and
international access codes from mobiles or fixed line telephones
for value added services such as entertainment or information.
Specific examples of premium services might include calls
or SMS to chat lines, 190 numbers, competitions/ promotions
and calls overseas. Calls to premium services are often
expensive and have the risk of leading to unexpected high
telephone bills. The charges associated with the use of
premium services are determined by the provider of the
premium service product, the customer is billed through
iTEL and then iTEL passes these monies onto the premium
service provider. Complete liability of any charges associated
with the use of premium services are the responsibility
of the iTEL customer account from which the calls is made.
iTEL Community Telco. provides a barring service free
of charge, to all customers who wish to restrict the use
of premium services from their mobile or telephone services.
By default all international prefix calls are barred by
iTEL. If you wish to have all, or specific premium services
barred e.g. 1902 numbers, simply call 13 36 36 to have
this arranged free of charge. The following complaint handling
organisations are available to handle premium service complaints.
